Ireland fans specifically those situated in Dublin were not spared from the string of late performances which involved Axl Rose, the 48 year old American musician of the rock band Guns N’ Roses. This time though, the band’s almost one hour indolence was not dismissed by the fans as well as the promoters.
The band’s tardiness was confronted by groups of people who threw bottles on the stage. Before the second performance where the band rendered Welcome to the Jungle, Rose already forewarned the audience that another bottle thrown at them would mean they will have to leave; nonetheless, when he was already presenting his bandmates, another bottle was strewn on the stage followed by a disapproval of boos from the crowd.
Inasmuch as the band wanted to leave, they were obligated by their handlers to finish their gig until 1 AM where they fulfilled their obligation in an almost empty place.
On the contrary, even with the late performances, the agents responsible for promoting the concerts of the bands in the coast of Europe, MCD and the 02 in a press release, comforted the band by remarking that they should not have experienced being thrown with any substance.
Additionally, reports have been circulating that the band’s promoters are being mandated by politicians to make a refund of the tickets. As of press time, MCD has not yet made any comment on the matter.
Almost twenty years ago, in 1992, European fans experienced a similar scenario when they had to wait for two hours in order to witness Rose’s band to perform.
