United States President Barack Obama was initially reluctant to address the questions raised about whether he was born in the United States, which were discussed most prominently and vigorously by “birther” and real estate magnate Donald Trump.

But now the president has addressed the issue after relentless discussion in the media by other self designated “birthers” by releasing his long form birth certificate. As an encore to the conclusion of the debate over his place of birth, which the president called a silly sideshow put on by “carnival barkers”, the 2012 presidential campaign to reelect Mr. Obama has released something else – T-shirts which on the front show a picture of President Obama and the line “Made in the U.S.A.” under it.  The back of the T-shirt displays a copy of the president’s long form birth certificate.

The Obama for America presidential campaign body, which is providing the T-shirts, is also offering similar mugs.

The donation page on the barackobama.com website says “wear your support for this campaign with an official Made in the U.S.A. T-shirt. Donate $25 or more today and we’ll send you your limited edition shirt.”

A teenager in Texas who found and turned in $2,000 to police after she found the money at the Pavilion Center parking lot in Dallas Texas, was breathless with shock when she learned an anonymous donor rewarded her honesty with a $4,000 reward.

Ashley Donaldson said “I was completely shocked. I couldn’t breathe….I was just so happy and just so amazed at how they could do that for me”

Donaldson, a freshman at Shepton High School, turned the money in to police even though her family was going through extreme financial problems. Donaldson believed the money would be given back to her if nobody claimed it.  But city officials reversed this policy and put the money into a general fund after nobody came forward to claim it.

Donaldson’s story was told on WFAA-TV Dallas this Wednesday, after which an anonymous Good Samaritan from Fort Worth gifted her and her family with $4,000.

Donaldson, her four brothers and sisters, and her parents subsequently moved from their one bedroom apartment to a home in Plato. The family had moved from Colorado last November and having been going through difficult financial struggles.

“I spent my first five minutes crying and then I couldn’t get it off fast enough” said fifty-year old Gary Weddle, a middle school teacher in Ephreta, Washington, explaining how he shaved his beard for the first time since the terrorist attacks in Washington and New York on September 11^th, 2011.

Weddle said after his friends told him that bin Laden had been killed, he had a good cry then, clipped and shaved off his 15 inch beard.  “I’m still very emotional about all this. About all the death and destruction.  I’m finally getting closure on this.”

Weddle had vowed not to shave again until Osama bin Laden was captured or killed, and was filled with joy on Sunday night when he heard the man who had caused the death of over 3,000 men women, and children on September 11^th had been killed.  Gary Weddle’s wife, Donita, had objected to her husband’s beard in the past so she also had more reason to overjoyed upon hearing of bin Laden’s death.  “I respected his passion and keeping a vow.  I was willing to look past the beard because I love him” she said.

Two half brothers who had never met before where stunned when they discovered each other by chance on a beach in Hawaii.

Thirty-eight year old Joe Parker and Rick Hill did not meet each other when they were children living in Massachusetts, but they did at the Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii when Joe asked offered to take a picture of Rick Hill and his family.  Rick hiss is a resident of Lunenberg on holiday in Hawaii with his family but Parker grew up in Leominster, Massachusetts, and later moved to Hawaii.

Parker recognized Hill’s accent and surprised him by asking him to say “Leominster” instead of “cheese” when he took his photo. Leominster is a neighboring town of Lunenberg.  Hill and Parker began chatting and soon enough were both shocked again when one talked about a person named Dickie Halligan, who both men identified as their father.

Both Hill and Parker expressed their utter astonishment to find each other later in life, and by chance.  Parker said “I can’t really put it into words.  If I had to, I would say it was chilling, paralyzing, and an out of body experience all at once.”

Just how easily will you fall for a con? That was what Turkish authorities wanted to find out.

Turkish police disguised themselves as doctors in the country’s southeastern city of Gaziantep to test how gullible the citizens of the city are, local reports say.

According to reports, police officers wore white coats and stethoscopes and knocked on doors of people telling them that a high blood pressure screening was being conducted.

The operation revealed that people in the city can be conned into believing that the police officers were doctors conducting a screening because 86 out of a hundred households immediately took the pills handed out by the officers.

Turkish media reports that the operation a conducted because the scenario has become a modus operandi of criminal groups.

According to local reports, some groups have been masquerading as doctors and conning people to take medicine which are, in fact, sedatives allowing them to rob their victims after the drugs take effect.

Citizens were later reminded to be more cautious.

Maybe the sender was high when he was writing the address.

An elderly couple from Pennsylvania did not suspect to be mailed a controlled substance when they opened a package delivered to their home, but that was just what happened.

According to the Delco Times, an elderly couple from Upper Darby town in Delaware County of the said state mistakenly received a package containing a 5-pound brick of marijuana.

Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said that the couple “didn’t know the name on the package and thought it was delivered by mistake,” the report from the publication said.

“They left it on the porch thinking someone would pick it up. When no one did, they opened it and called police and we retrieved it,” the police official said.

According to the report, the couple turned over the marijuana, estimated to have a $10,000 street value, to the police on April 21.

Authorities have also revealed that the Arizona return address on the package is fake.

A dolphin got itself stuck in mud in the Petitcodiac River in New Brunswick, Canada but was rescued by an enterprising fisheries officer who borrowed a canoe to save man’s second best friend.

The dolphin got stuck in an area where the water level changes greatly two times each day, below the Moncton, because of a tidal bore, a phenomenon which causes great washes of water to rush up river in a direction opposite the river’s normal current. Sandra and Jim Davis, who live opposite Moncton in Riverview, spotted the dolphin lying on its side with its head in the mud as the tide was ebbing.  Firefighters tried to reach the stranded animal and could not, but a fisheries official used a canoe belonging to a neighbor of the Davis’s to reach it after the tide changed.

Davis and the officer took the dolphin down stream and let it go.  The tidal bore was much stronger prior to 1968 when a causeway was constructed which served as both a dam and a bridge between Riverview and Moncton. But, last year the causeway was left open so that salmon could swim up river.

Davis said “if they’re going to keep the gates open, they should have some kind of system where they can perform quick rescue for individuals that are stuck in the mud.”

Nearly half the known population of the endangered right whale species has decided to congregate off the beaches of Provincetown and Truro in Massachusetts.

Charles “Stormy” Mayo explained that the nearly 200 whales gathered off the coast of Massachusetts are attracted to the area by zooplankton, which is very common this time of year.  Mayo is a senior scientist at the center for coastal studies in Provincetown.  The whales are situated any where between a few yards and a half mile from shore.

This year’s annual gathering of right whales off the Cape Cod Bay in Massachusetts is called by scientists the biggest concentration of the endangered animal giving them an unusual chance to study their feeding habits, but it also has the Division of Marine Fisheries concerned that they will be injured by curious boaters.  The right whales weigh about 70 tons.  Boaters have been warned by the division that it is against the law to bring their boat within 500 feet of the mammals.

Right whales are so named because whalers thought them to be the “right” whales to hunt because they often swim with in sight of shore and float when killed. The mammals were hunted nearly to extinction during the height of the whaling industry. Scientists say their numbers have been recovering and there are thought to be about 450 right whales in the world today.

In an incident reminiscent of an Ohio man getting charged nearly $16.5 million for his cable TV subscription, a manager of a distillery in France got the shock of his life when he received a $1 billion phone bill.

According to a report from the Agence France-Presse, the Maison Vedrenne distillery at the Nuits-Saint-Georges region of the country got a phone bill amounting to a whopping 716,414,273 euros.

The distillery’s manager, Gerard Chaussee, told the AFP that “It’s so enormous when you see it written down, you can’t believe it, so several of us had a look.”

According to the man, he first thought that the bill was a forgery because of the huge amount the bill said the company owed. “I looked at the bill from every angle,” he said.

However, Orange, the phone company which sent the bill, said that there was a malfunction with the computer which printed the bill.

“The figure inside the computer is correct. If the client hadn’t looked at his bill, which happens sometimes, he obviously wouldn’t have had that amount taken out of his account,” the telecoms firm told the AFP.

The incident is strikingly similar to when Time Warner Cable sent a notice to Lt. Daniel DeVirgilio  of Beavercreek, Ohio saying that he owed the company $16,409,107 for his monthly cable TV subscription fee.

Got at least $650,000 to spare? You can shave a billionaire’s leg for that amount.

Various reports confirm that bidding will be conducted for shaving Sir Richard Branson’s legs and that the starting price will be at 400,000 pounds (more or less $650,000).

Branson will serve as a flight stewardess in complete female uniform in an AirAsia X flight on May 1 as consequence for a bet he lost against Tony Fernandes, the man who turned AirAsia into the first successful budget carrier in Asia.

In a previous report here at Seer Press, it was said that Branson lost a bet to Tony Fernandes when the Lotus Team, which Fernandes is a co-principal, placed higher in the 2010 Bahrain Formula One GP than the Branson-sponsored Marussia Virgin Racing team.

The proceeds of the auction for the chance to shave the eclectic British billionaire’s legs, along with ticket sales for the said flight, will go to charity.

Branson is famous for his successful Virgin group of companies and for his special projects including space flights and deep-sea probes.
