Hannah 200x300 Investigators find no link between Pampers and baby diaper rashA couple of safety groups who investigated claims that Pampers Dry Max, made by Procter & Gamble, can cause severe baby diaper rash found no specific links between the use of the diapers and the reported rashes.

There were 4,700 complaints of baby diaper rash filed against Pampers Dry Max. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada initiated their own distinct investigations as a result of those consumer reports.

The Pampers Dry Max was advertised by Procter & Gamble as an innovative product, being thinner yet more absorbent than competitors. However, a group of parents filed a lawsuit claiming the health damages and a Facebook page was later put up urging the company to revert back to the old Pampers product.

We hope that today’s announcement will reassure the millions of moms and dads and child caregivers who place their trust in Pampers and Dry Max every day,” Jodi Allen, vice president of Pampers said in a statement Thursday.

A CPSC statement says that the two agencies found no links between the complaints and the baby diaper rash complaints but added they will continue to receive and investigate further reports from consumers.
