Kittiwat Unarrom 300x196 Thailand artist and baker brings out the cannibal out of consumersSome people in Thailand may be looking like cannibals, as you would see these people enjoy feasting on severed parts of the human body.

But don’t be mistaken because these bloody body parts are just dough masterpieces meld by the hands of Kittiwat Unarrom. Kittiwat Unarrom has mastered sculptures, paintings, and has studied fine arts. And, according to the 32-year-old, he has found a very familiar medium for his artworks.

His family has already been in the baking business for quite some time and he has already been baking since he was 10. He believed that the dough is his best medium to express his religious belief. His artworks would show how short-lived the lives of men are, the same as the bread.

His artworks are formed with the help of constant trips to forensic laboratories and museums. This is to adapt a more realistic and horrific aesthetic. His bread does not only look real, he has developed a good taste in his works as he brings more flavor to his dismembered body parts creations.

He started his artworks on dough in 2006, making him known for the gruesome looking bread. Kittiwat made an impact in the public as he launched the Body and Dead exhibition in 2008. Kittiwat baked severed heads for the audience to feast on.

His 2008 Body and Dead exhibition has been revived for Bangkok’s Whitespace Retro show at Whitespace Gallery until August 8.
