4fba1119487ca recall Toshiba unveils Android computer tablet PCJapanese computer maker Toshiba announced on Friday that it will release a computer tablet PC running under Google’s Android operating system, as it tries to gain a sizable share of the expanding tablet market led by Apple’s iPad.

Toshiba said it will offer its Folio 100 computer tablet PC in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East by the end of this year. A United States or Japan launch is yet to be announced, according to a spokesperson of the company.

The market for tablet devices like the iPad is attracting a lot of consumer attention,” said the Toshiba spokesperson.

Aside from Toshiba, other manufacturers are also looking to take advantage of the booming demand for computer tablet PC products. On Thursday, Samsung launched its Android-run Galaxy Tab. Sharp unveiled tablet prototypes back in July and plans to market them by the end of the month as “iPad made in Japan.”
